One of the holy grailes of sweet soul music. Only LP by Optimistics – 5 black youngsters from Baltimore. Record were produced by mighty George Kerr (man that stands behind lots of soul groups such as Escorts, Moments, Whatnauts…) and released on the Turbo Records (All Platinum subsidiary label) in the early seventies. First side of record is quality male sweet soul. B side is loaded with groove! Highlights includes the slamming funk cut “Man”, its funky soul brother “If I could Influence Man” & northern-style “Say it Baby”.
